How to Get Started with Mobile Marketing

Mobile Marketing2

While mobile marketing is new, it’s a vital addition to any local internet marketing campaign and you can’t miss out on it!  The first thing you need to do when mobile marketing is identify with your own business and who your audience is; are they going to come to your storefront in the real world, where you can put up advertisements for your mobile alerts, or do they come to websites to check out what deals you have? Each presents its own unique challenges that you’ll have to tackle for your business so make sure you identify the first point of contact before we get started!

What is Mobile Marketing, and how does it Work?

Mobile marketing is just what it says; you’ll contact your followers directly through opt-in offers to their mobile (cell) phones. They will send a text to a number with the words “join” or something, and then they’ll be signed up to your list. You can even take orders and send out notices of when your business will be closed due to weather, etc. and it’ll be a lot easier getting ahold of your customers and even employees this way. There’s no reason to still be using the phone when there are 300 million cellphones in use in the United States today (one for every person!) that can receive text messages.

Get started

Getting started with mobile marketing is easy. If you are a website, you can send out an email with the information to get offers and promotions by mobile, and you can put up a big notice on your website so people will sign up. It’s automatic when they do, so you don’t have to worry about trying to respond to every person who signs up. If you have a brick and mortar store, you can put up notice on tables or at the register that you’re offering special offers and news by text and how they can sign up. Whichever way you choose to do it, you’ll be able to get people on your lists in no time.

Reeling them in

Reeling them in is important, and you can do this with offers of specials, contests and free stuff. Let them schedule appointments by text, and leave the competition behind who uses the phone.  In this day and age, you don’t have to restrict yourself to waiting around for your customers to contact you, pay them a visit and profit!
